For my pre-clin (* means book is readily available electronically in pdf or chm if you know the right people):
- Physiology textbook: Guyton and Hall* (the standard, lectures are made using this text), Physiology Costanzo* (good summary text)
- Anatomy: Clinically Oriented Anatomy* (standard), Netter's clinical anatomy* (handy anatomy text), General Anatomy Eizenberg* (written by a lecturer and he likes to use it), Clinical Neuroanatomy Made Ridiculously Simple* (very handy for med2042), Thieme Atlas and Textbook of Anatomy General Anatomy and Musculoskeletal System* (my pick of anatomy atlases for first year), Langman's Medical Embryology* (only if you're really keen)
- Clinical skills: Talley and O'Connor (the standard, you'll use this a lot), The ECG Made Easy 7th* (if you're keen, quite a good book)
- Pharmacology: Rang and Dale's Pharmacology* (lecture slides are usually enough for pharm anyway)
- Biochem: Life The Science of Biology* (only for med1011, not worth buying)
- Histology: Wheater's Functional Histology A Text and Colour Atlas* (only if you're very keen, prac handouts should be enough)
Yeah so lots floating around the net or with meddies already.
I personally bought in hard-copy Talley, Netter's clinical anatomy, clinically oriented anatomy, guyton and hall, rang and dale.
