No no I am using that link, the link I gave you was just an off hand link that I thought might be related, apparently not sorry. But yes, I am DEFINITELY using that link and nothing is coming up :/

I had that same problem and figured it's the browser you use. I couldn't open the timetable on chrome however it worked perfectly fine on IE

If I were to register for a L01/01 for a particular subject, could I register for L02/02 for the same subject or would I be required to be in L02/01, i.e. the same repeat? Is this the same for tutes/workshops etc?
Depends on the subject. For most, you will be able to take L01/01, L02/03, L03/02; or whatever other combination.

However, some subjects have "linked" lectures and/or "linked" tutes. For example, Calculus 2 has linked lectures (e.g. can only register for L01/01, L02/01, L03/01), and Linear Algebra has linked lectures and linked tutes (1 hour tute and 1 hour computer lab).

That's not to say you can't rock up to another lecture for linked ones, it just may mean that you'll have skipped a couple of slides, or have to sit through a couple of slides again.

Would there happen to be any way to tell if classes for a given subject are linked before registration?
And in the case that there isn't, does anyone know if BIOL10004 and BCMB20002 have linked classes?

linked streams will usually be at the same time on different days. like, last year i think bio had a 9am stream, a 11am stream and a 1pm stream or something like that. sometimes it'll change a tad, for example esd2 last semester had a morning stream (9am, 10am, 10am) and an afternoon stream which was always at 3:15.
biochem has a 10am stream and a 1pm stream in sem1 this year.

Regarding not having the timetable pop up, I did say earlier that you must ensure that your browser does not block pop up windows. This should do the trick. ;)

For any subjects, do I need to have Prac 1 before Prac 2 in the same week? For example, for Accelerated Maths 1, could I choose the P01 time for Friday, and the P02 time for Tuesday?

Edit: At the moment, this poses no issue for me. I'm just wondering :)

for am1, p1 and p2 are linked back to back. its a tute, and once you finish it, your tutor takes you to the lab. you cant choose to do the tute one day and the lab another.

If I can't get in right on time will I still have a good chance of getting the tute and prac times I want? I need to get certain ones to avoid clashes.

You pretty much need to be there when it opens.
Sometimes if you're lucky, the ones YOU want are the ones none else wants (e.g. Friday afternoon pracs) but usually you need to be online within, I guess, 30 minutes of registration opening.

It depends a lot on what class it is but if you're really keen to get a specific time, you should be there when it opens and engage in the joy of the UoM IT experience

It opens at 10am (technically). That means it will open anywhere between 9.30 and 11.30.

And yeah, it really can be that bad, depending on the subject.

you'll want to be constantly refreshing from about 9:30, but dont expect to actually get in until 10:30 because the portal is going to crash and lag forever and ever
