The teacher doesn't exactly help either...
'Hey Mr Bob, how do you do Q10?'
'That's Year 11 Methods stuff, you don't need to know about it'
'Why on earth is it on the exam then?' -.-
[/quote]
Omg, ikr? The teacher is always saying that these  questions will never come on the actual test? Why is it there then???? ARGHHH, i quit JAC so yeah haha, but I go to the friday revision one. Thats okay because, you do the essay and a revision sheet, which you CAN take home  :P ::)

Good Luck everyone, 19 days!  ???
I am kind of feeling ready. "Kind of"

But anyway, I went to JAC last year for the MacRob/Nossal/Melb H exam and the English was terrible :o
it was nothing like the real exam and so yes I was really unprepared for the actual exam haha ::)

oh and for the science essay part, I know we have to write something like a prac for one of them.
I know how to write a prac, but how do you write a prac if you haven't done the experiment? I'm a tad confused  :-\
And some of my friends are telling me that I have to include the independent and dependant variable in the prac or something....sorta confused about that as well, haha :P

I think science communication is the prac one. So you would do expected results (if it is so obvious) or results with just a table to record answers in. The rest are the same. I dont think you need to talk about independent and dependant variable?

Hahaha the examiners are not looking to see if you have the correct answer or not, but more likely how you structure your parc and yea, like what SKGUN11 said they are looking forward to read your table and discussion.- However i suggest 1 or 2 sentences for discussion would be more than enough :)

Yeah, do expected results, and approximate stuff. For example, a topic in JAC was 'Test the influence of temperature on the effectivity of baking bread'. I had no clue how to bake bread, so the ingredients for the bread was flour, olive oil, baking powder and a tray. It's the scientific talk and correct formatting that will net you marks though, so give it your best shot! :)

This is my format:

Introduction
Cram Info
Cram Info
Cram Info
Cram Info
Draw images/tables/diagrams
Conclusion

Do we get marked on our actual writing skills as well as our scientific knowledge?

Hahaha. I think so because this is where the examiners can mark our knowledge of english essays too, by correct structure. Idk, thats what I think.

I think if it is analytical type question, then I will do it in TEEL format, with heaps of scientific words and stuff instead of opinions. But if its completely different, that explaining related scientific concepts is what I will do  ;)

It's an assessment of your ability to communicate scientific knowledge, so your writing skills will definitely come into it. That's in conjunction with your science knowledge, of course.
