Hints and Tips for a remarkable score in Methods (CAS)

Hi guys! I'm current pondering about the amount of effort required to perform well in the Methods course this year. As a goal I've set for myself this year, I'm trying to aim for a 45+ raw, which is regarded as difficult from most people's perspectives. Can anyone apprise me of any hints, tips in order to achieves this?

PS I also want to have knowledge of the scores (percentage wise) for my upcoming SACs and the exams if I want to achieve a 50.

*EDIT: By 50 I mean scaled.*

Get to know your CAS really well, and do heaps of practice exams!
When doing your exams, be sure to make sure find your own ways to minimise mistakes (ie. doing exercises on a topic you may find difficult, being more pedantic, using CAS programs on exam 2).
I hope this helps you out :)

Thanks for the tip :) . Fortunately I'm possession of an older model  of the Ti-Nspire CAS (2006 MY) for more than 4 years which should equate to a decent understanding of the programs and functions of my calculator. 8)

hey chris banh,

do pretty much all textbook questions; try to finish the course as early as possible so you can hit practice exams. you need to do a lot of these... i ended up doing about 100 full methods exams (exam 1 and exam 2).

in regard to SAC scores for a 50, i got 100% on every SAC except 1, so you need to be aiming for the full marks if you want a 50. but remember, your rank is more important. you need rank 1 or 2 if you want 50. for the exam, it depends how hard it is. i think i lost 2 marks overall on both exams (both stupid mistakes) but i did it in 2012 and it was a harder exam than normal. if it is an easy exam, you probably need full marks or you can lose one mark and still get it. but it's also the combination of high SAC scores and high exam score :)

thanks, drake
