[Biology] Is 70% a bad mark?

So i recently had my first Biology 3/4 SAC and i got 70% for it. Initially i was quite disheartened as i heard that those who got an A/A+ in their SACS and end of year exam only received around a 37-39 study score (friends who did 3/4 in year 11). Thus, a 70% (B equivalent at my school) would probably achieve only a 30? (if i'm lucky). Now, i'm aiming for a 35 study score; and by the looks of it, i probably won't be able to achieve this.

However, my teacher claims that she marks "hard" on our tests and SACs. So relatively, would my 70% score be considered as quite "good"?. I know 2 girls got 67%, one got 63% and another got 57% (I'm not sure about the rest of the cohort). So i assume i'd be somewhere in the top 5 of my Biology cohort based on this result.

So now i'm thinking that 70% is not so much a bad mark after all. Am i correct in saying this? Given the situation and the average SAC mark in the cohort etc.

Is a 35 study score achievable now?

You're right, your 70% is not a bad mark if those around you received lower or around the same mark as you. It's still possible to achieve a study score of 40 and over!

The most important thing is your rank. And the exam. That's important as well.

Yes it's certainly achievable.

Keep working hard and believe in yourself! :) haha

I've known a guy who screwed his first SAC up (75% i believe), ended up with 50 (although he did average 95-100% for every SAC afterwards). I'm sure there's some sort of statistical moderation involved so if your exam score is high A+s your SACs will get moderated too.

lol I got something like 8/12 (something like 66%) in my first SAC and ended up in the high forties. Bio has so many SACs it doesn't matter at all, honestly.
