In a perfect world I would have liked to be close to finishing, but this isn't a perfect world.
I have my first Unit 4 SAC in the second class of term, so I'm pretty close to finishing the course because I will have 1 more SAC after that one. Just focusing on revising Unit 3 and juggling SAC study at the moment (probably prioritising the SAC a little over U3 revision)

But not following you fully, 'at the end of September, beginning of August'. Do you mean 'at the end of September, beginning of October'?

thanks

End of August, Beginning of September? I think.

I can't remember when I finished. Maybe around Sep 20th?
Though, I do remember extensively going through yearningforsimplicity's notes and prac exams which helped sooo much.

Thanks guys, I'm going through the MD goals now, and will finish the rest mid August hopefully and then do full practise exams. Loving the course btw! HHD has been awesome :)

Hey HHD'ers! I was wondering if anyone has any study techniques. I'm doing 3/4 in year 11 and I have pretty high expectations from others and myself.

Hey HHD'ers! I was wondering if anyone has any study techniques. I'm doing 3/4 in year 11 and I have pretty high expectations from others and myself.

For HHD in particular (given it's your 3/4) I find the following very effective:

- I make mind maps and posters which I stick on my massive wardrobe doors to look at when I don't want to study at my desk. In the SAC I can visualise these posters, which helps me remember the content.

- Buy yourself some system cards from Officeworks. You can write definitions and other notes on them and they're great to take with you when you're travelling on public transport or waiting somewhere. I took mine with me the other day for Unit 3 when I was waiting at the doctor's. Did a solid hour of study because the doc was running over time.

- Don't rote learn the content and leave it at that. Learn the content well and practice applying it. I cannot stress the importance of application enough in this subject. I find Study ON and Checkpoints most helpful for HHD. I also use A+ Notes in my school's library when I'm in a study period now and then for additional notes and questions. Also, get your teacher (or someone on AN) to mark the questions.

-Look at mark allocations and make note of them in a SAC/exam. If a question is worth 5 marks and is asking for 2 examples and explanations, question where the extra mark lies. Could it be you need a definition at the beginning of your response? Make a quick note of where the marks are allocated in the question so you can check them off either physically or in your head as you do the question or if you have time to look over the paper.

-annotate your SACs upon return. If your teacher doesn't go through your SAC when they hand it back with the class, make a time to go through the questions you got wrong with them one on one. Even if your school doesn't let you write on your SAC when you get it back, have a document going where you write down why you didn't receive full marks so you can improve in the future. For example, I dropped a mark in Unit 3 for not using data in a 2 mark question. I wrote it down, highlighted and underlined it and now I always remind myself to use data. Haven't dropped a mark for a situation like this since.

Hope this helps!

You would want about a b+ mark in your sacs for a 35, I have no idea how hard you would need to work but the year is almost over so why not work as hard as you can ? Good luck :)
