I was just wondering does anyone know if some one from a Bsc degree went straight to med because its always usually the Biomed students, or at least that's what i always hear. Though I know its apparently possible but I've never met anyone that did it from a Bsc degree.

I know plenty of people who've gone from a range of undergraduate degrees into medicine, including BSc, LLB, BComm, BBiomedSc (of course) and even a couple of people who completed a BA at the undergraduate level. You have plenty of time to think about what you want to do after undergraduate study, and a BSc is as good as any a place to start if you're intent on working towards med.

Granted, the system at some universities is somewhat skewed towards biomed students, but if you work hard and well, and stay set on your goals then you won't have too many issues!

Getting into med doesn't depend on what undergraduate degree you've did, it's more about the individual and the hard work they put in. There may be more biomed students doing medicine but I'm sure there is a stronger linear relationship with hard work.

I talked to an old lady once who has a son who didn't attend high school all the way up to year 10 because of medical issues. He ended up doing biomed then medicine, the whole pathway to get there. She told me this story because she wanted to me let know that it's because of him trying very hard that he got there. So I'm not saying that because he did biomed that he's more likely to get into med too, it's because of his strive.

So have the courage to persevere.

Just hypothesised something  8)

haha, maybe because students who do biomed are already inclined to medical studies that there are so many people from biomed who are doing medicine and as for science, they may not have did very medical based science majors. this is just a random thought.

Edit: grammar

There's that, but there's also the fact that some universities dedicate places in their graduate medicine program for biomedical science/biomedicine students (see: Biomed Chancellor's Scholars at UoM and Monash's grad med entry program from 2017 onwards).
