Hi guys, just wanting suggestions, if someone averages around 90% all year on their sacs, and potentially scores similar on the exam, what study score would they be looking at. Thanks

It's pretty hard to tell because VCAA look at your ranking not your actual score. So there may be even a higher score than 90 that will get the rank 1. It depends greatly on your cohort as well.
Sorry for not being much help

If my experience lends any insight, I got avg 97% on SACS but my teacher didn't tell us the rank but I suspect in the top 5. My exam didn't go as well 100/130 and ended up with 42. Could of done better but oh well. 90% on Sacs should be fine as long as you do well on the exam.

Did you have a strong cohort? Private school?

I also got 42. 97 average on sacs, A on exam. Public school, but had a unusually strong cohort in my year level.

If I am averaging HIGH in each sac and get the same in the exam, with a weak cohort, what study score could I possibly get???

It is very difficult to predict study scores so early on in the year. Speaking from experience 90% does not guarantee anything. You could have a strong cohort now but they may all decide to party hard and not do so well on the exam. On the other hand, you could be getting lows 80s in SACS - nek minute 50. It all depends on a variety of factors. Factors which no matter how hard you try to work out are just not worth the effort. If you want to be reassured that your hard word will pay off I shall give you this: work hard and study smartly and you will be pleasantly surprised in the exam.

The percentage you get on your SACs is essentially meaningless except as a way to rank you against the other people in your cohort. I averaged maybe ~50-60% in my Spec SACs and got 41.

If I am averaging HIGH in each sac and get the same in the exam, with a weak cohort, what study score could I possibly get???

Still largely depends on how well the cohort does in SACs vs. the exam. If your school's SACs are well written then your 90% should put you near the top of the pile which when paired with an equally good exam result, will result in a very strong study score. Otherwise, who knows? Impossible to predict at this stage.

so are people aiming to go well in sacs, and hoping they have a weak cohort, then when the exam comes hoping the cohort performs well resulting in sacs getting scaled up
