Coffee is good for you, last I checked - apparently 2-3 cups has some mild health benefits.

Either way, I wouldn't drink one over what you're used to - generally, before assessments I stick to a routine, so I wouldn't go without mine either (I usually drink 3 cups before I get to school).

But if you're doing it because you haven't slept much, then it's really not going to help, dude.

There are links to death from drinking too many energy drinks - I wouldn't risk it personally. Even in small doses, you can become addicted fairly easily...

Gave that a read. Not drinking Monster ever again.

Any other ideas for stimulants other than coffee and tea?

As a pharmacology major, bullshit. Too much of anything will kill you (even water). All energy drinks comprise are sugar, water, flavour and caffeine. It's not like they lace it with amphetamine or rat poison. There's nothing worse in there than in coffee or tea. If you drink 20 in a row or have a very rare condition, then, maybe but drinking coffee or anything else would have done this too. Caffeine at worst is weakly addictive (it is not non-addictive). Don't mean to have a go at you mate but i hate to see people spreading around false things as science or doing silly things like treating energy drinks like hard drugs when all they are is sugar, water, caffeine and flavour.

Won't ask how you did your research on that one :p.

Another vote here for tea (i also voted about 10,000,000 times, so, tea wins).

Slothpomba is right.  And dhe worst thing in energy drinks when it comes to your health is probably actually their sugar content not the caffeine content.

As bad as it may be, reckon i'll stick with energy drinks for that boost, work better than that crap they call coffee and tea.

I once drank 4 V's in two hours to see what would happen.
Quite predictable really, I babbled like a madwoman then crashed seriously hard when trying to run a staff meeting.
