Today, my Biology teacher said that we're gonna get the mid year results sent to our houses. Does that mean that they'll be posted on that day? Or will we actually receive them on that day? (That day being August 3rd.)

I interpreted it as getting our results on the 3rd which is what the majority of us think as well.

I thought the results were only available through the school, aren't they?

Some schools may opt to send the results via mail, which means it probably won't arrive on the day (August 3rd - the day teachers have access to your score via some database thing) if they choose to do this. If you don't get it on the first day they're out, you could ask your teacher if they know your scores - provided they've already checked (my biology teacher cared heaps about us and managed to remember everyone's marks on the day before class). My school gave the scores out at the end of the day, I think. Most people who couldn't wait just asked teachers. So yeah it's pretty much the school's choice in which method they're delivering the results to you/which day.

Reporting Arrangements For Final VCE June Examinations And Studio Arts Results 2008
Schools are advised that Final results for the VCE June examinations and Studio Arts School-assessed Task 1 will be available through VASS from 3:00 pm Sunday 3 August 2008.  Results must not be released to students before Monday 4 August.

So they're actually available on Sunday...  Now that gives my teacher(s) time to think about how they will go about castigating us about our scores.

Results must not be released to students before Monday 3 August 2009.  GAT results will be released to students on 14 December 2009.

As much I would like to dream, I'm pretty sure it isn't going to happen considering my Chem teacher said that the exam was "... so easy.  If you didn't, wait till you see the next SAC..."
