How did you maintain hope for the UMAT?

So I recently completed my first practice exam on MedEntry and I was completely decimated (especially on section 1). My self esteem has definitely taken a hit and ever since I started practicing on drills, I've been losing hope for a desirable outcome. For those past UMAT takers (or current), how did you personally approach the UMAT optimistically?

I can relate to you. I remember my percentiles were ugly with MedEntry section 2 (kept getting 0-30 %iles) But managed to do well in all sections of UMAT.

Remember that:

1. When comparing MedEntry percentiles you are comparing with only the top people who are actually trying in the UMAT. In the real UMAT you compare with everyone, even people who do UMAT with no prior study whatsoever.

2. Doing the MedEntry exams online is so annoying and I found it way easier to concentrate in the actual UMAT because it was on paper, with a better environment.

Good LUCK!!! KEEP AT IT :)

Thanks for that, it definitely has provided some sense of consolation :)

I keep reminding myself what you mentioned in (1) and (2) but it feels as though that would only contribute to a negligible improvement... When you received your results for the UMAT, were they significantly different from your percentiles on the MedEntry practice exams?

And how did you prevent becoming disheartened over demoralising scores in section 2?
