How many marks can you afford to lose to achieve a 50 study score in health & human development, if any? I aiming for a 50 but I've already lost only 5 marks overall with all my SACS. And with biology, what sort of percentages should you be getting if you're aiming for a study score over 40? :)

By the way, the advice is great and well done on achieving high study scores. :)

Hi Candice,

I can't really comment on Biology, as I didn't do it. In regard to Health, I don't think there will be a certain amount of marks you can lose before you can no longer get a 50. I'm no expert, but from what I gather, ranking in your cohort is much more important. I was ranked #1 in my cohort and felt that I performed quite well on the exam, but I certainly dropped marks during the year. I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance, but I think it depends largely on your cohort.

And thank you for the feedback!

Then why not have a look over my 41 tips for VCE success?  :)

As I mention in the document attached, I graduated 18 months ago with an ATAR of 99.65 and study scores of 50, 48, 48, 45, 44 and 44. I also received an Australian Student Prize for my academic year in 2012.

On page 8, I have included a tl;dr (too long; didn't read) version for those of you who don't wish to read the entire document.

I am more than happy to answer any questions about my tips, school, uni, life in general, or anything else that comes to mind.  :)

Best of luck to you all and kind regards,
Nick.

Great tips!! And well done on getting such an amazing ATAR.

Hey :)
I did bio and health last year, so I may be able to help. For health, I mainly got full marks or 1 mark off for each SAC. So losing 5 marks overall with all your SACs isn't bad!!
And for bio, I remember I did really badly for 2 of my SACs and I remember feeling really down. But don't worry too much about your SAC scores, it is the exam that really matters. I remember thinking that I'd never make it past a 45 for bio, but I made it, and I'm sure you can too!! All the best, and I hope that helped a little bit....

Keep on keeping on, Year 12s!

A couple of my students are starting to choose their VCE subjects. If you are in this position, I recommend having a read over my tips regarding subject selection.

All the best,
Nick.  :)

Hi, I'd just like to ask if you did any extracurricular activities, and if you did, what were they?
