Just a thread on GA1 for Biology, feel free to post and compare  :D
So what'd you guys get? Happy with the results? Aiming higher for Unit 4?
I got 83/100 for GA1, which is an A however according to 2013 Grade Distributions for Graded Assessments VCE its a B+ :(
Hopefully for 2014 the stakes are less!  ::)
83/100 which personally am quite happy with however I know I could have gotten so much higher if I tried harder!
Study score aims for you guys?

Wow that's great everyone!

For me 2013, my GA 1 was 75/100 and scaled to 90/100.

Thanks for sharing Rod :)
Btw, did you have a strong cohort? And did your marks get scaled so high because of this, or because you did well on the exam?

I ended up getting 83% in the exam (so 91/110).

My cohort was pretty strong. All subjects at my school last year got scaled up, and by different marks, eg bio up by 15, health 20 something and methods like 4 or 5.

So yeah I would assume it was because of my cohort.

Sorry, this may be a bit off topic- but since I haven't done well at all in Bio this semester, do I still have a chance of getting a 45+ SS?

I've been told that sac scores do not affect the SS and that the SS is dependent on the exam mark only...

SAC marks for bio unfortunately contribute to 40% of the SS. So yes, they do affect you SS, but they change change according to your exam mark.

SACS individually don't contribute much, but as a whole, yes they do.

They do contribute however the exam weighs the most.

Hadn't seen this until now. Your GA will moderate also, dependent on how you do on the exam.

If you are equal rank 2nd and smash the exam, you will drastically go up in terms of comparison to other cohorts.

Keep working hard.
