Hi everyone,
I have a SAC on Funder's Stasiland next week for Reading and Responding. I have a timed practice SAC after school on Wednesday, so I've learnt quotes over the past week and I'm now brainstorming prompts to help develop my ideas before Wednesday.
I've found some prompts online and I'm trying to brainstorm one at the moment but I'm a bit stuck. We haven't covered structure of the response in class yet (hopefully that will be tomorrow), so how do I go about responding to a "discuss" prompt in terms of my contention?
The prompt is "Funder discovers the difficultly of leaving the past behind. Discuss." I agree she does discover this, but also at the same time Julia shows how this can be made simpler by leaving the environment associated with the past. I also thought I could discuss the idea of covering up the past with the description of the GDR as "horror-romance" and the "ideological redecoration" of the streets, but I can't think of anything else.
