I hope everyone has had an amazing first semester and keeping up with everything for exams and next semester. :)

I need some advice and help with something, I'm moving into Unit 2 Chemistry next semester (dropping HHD) but the thing is, I haven't touched chemistry since year 9 science so my chemistry knowledge is just about nil. Besides going through the textbook, does any of resources that would be useful for me to get up to speed with my class?

To be honest, content covered in Unit 1 is pretty easy. And this is coming from someone who is in a sort-of-similar position to you (listened in year 9 chemistry, slept through year 10). Try and go through the textbook questions (specifically the mole stuff, that requires practicing) and if you don't understand some of the concepts ask your teacher or look it up on Khan Academy. Other than that, get your hand on the SACs and finish them once you covered the content. Get them marked and learn the stuff that you got wrong.

So, seeing that everyone's unit 1 exams had finished (mine finished yesterday), does anyone mind sharing their thoughts on how well they went?

Only have my results for Methods and Specialist so far and I think I did fairly well. Between the two Methods exams I only lost half a mark in total so I'm pleased with that. Physics and HHD I think I did okay in, but haven't seen the results yet and the same with English.

I still have 2 tomorrow! So far feeling pretty good, got 100% for Religion and Society (what haha), think I smashed Chem and Eng, methods was a bit difficult, but that's to be expected, and have spesh and italian tomorrow. Hoping they aren't too bad   :P

Hey Guys,

Just curious what types of questions do you get on your methods tests/exams, were they extended response questions similar to the textbook or idk what were the questions basically, haha? Just curious about the difficulty rates. :)

We've had three SACs for Methods so far. The first and third were multiple choice and short answer type questions, nothing much different than questions from the textbook. Our second SAC was a double period analysis task with 4 extended response questions. I'd probably say for the analysis task the questions were the same if not a little bit harder than the textbook extended response style questions.

Just curious, has anyone else here finished the Methods 1/2 course and starting 3/4 topics in their own time? (Or done so in the past)
