Wow thanks
I am also pretty pumped for this year. What texts are you studying for English this year? I'm doing Frankenstein this term and I am already apprehensive about the analytical text response SAC later this term since English has to be in the top 4.
I'm doing Frankenstein first term as well! Then 1948 & Stasiland (comparative) in Term 3 & a bit of Term 4. I'm also doing Medea but we're only spending a really short amount of time on that.
I'm also dreading the creative response SAC
And yeah for English, #fuckthecreative
Haha! I too am not a fan of the creative SAC.
Although I agree it's quite random to have a creative SAC when that isn't even part of our exam, it's my favourite style of writing so I'm really excited about that! I love writing creatively, I write stories in my free time, and yeah it's basically my favourite part of English, which is my favourite subject - so it's like the best of the best (for me)

Also a cool thing to add - my teacher for English is going to make us, for the entirety of term 3, LIVE the book 1984! So he's going to watch our every move, we can't show emotion, we have to wear an INGSOC badge wherever we go, even if we're outside school! And we can send him a secret application if we want to be a spy, and we can dob in our friends for not talking completely in Newspeak, or if they show emotion, or anything like that. Spies may even be in alliances created by friendship groups! People in past years in his class have framed other people by putting 'Down With Big Brother!' posters in their lockers. If you get caught you have to film a 30-second confession which will be played to the class. If it is not satisfactory, or if you are a repeat offender, you will go to 'Room 101' - aka he will find out your worst fear and make it a reality. One year a girl was afraid of spiders and he put a box on the table she sat at. When she got to class she opened it and there was a tarantula inside! She got so scared she jumped backward over a table.
Can't wait for Term 3!
