Yup definitely, I used to always be on top of my work and now I am struggling to keep up. It's mainly the spesh and methods because we cover a topic every lesson unlike in year 10 where we would finish a topic in 2-3 lessons and they would give us time to do the homework in class.
Same situation for spesh for me. For methods right now, I can keep up and work ahead since the stuff we're doing is essentially revision from Year 10, with that being said our class is behind compared to the other method classes LOL. Spesh is real time consuming, especially when you find every question difficult..

It's not a matter of how difficult they are, there's just too many of them and I don't have time to finish all of them all while doing tasks for other subjects.

Hm, I personally think the jump from Year 10 to Year 11 is quite big. It went from getting little homework that you could finish in class to receiving 2-3 hours worth of homework, and if you didn't complete it on the day you had received it, it would just continue to pile up. Additionally, doing a Yr 12 subject, I usually study for 1-2 hours more per night. It can be a bit overwhelming at first but then you get used to it :)

Exactly what I was going to say.

The thing is... I am working extremly hard and not getting the right marks  :( (didn't do as I expected on two assesements (minor assesements)

I might be the odd one out here but I'm finding year 11 to be easier than year 10 at the moment. Only subject I find myself to be falling behind in physics, everything else I'm finding to be nice and relaxed. Even year 12 psychology doesn't seem too bad at the moment.

Just a quick question, is anyone else here doing Specialist 1/2 via Distance Ed this year? I am and I'm finding to be a very interesting way of doing things.

Hey Guys! This is my first post on ATATNotes! How is everyone finding Year 11 thus far?

Welcome to Atar Notes! I have felt quite overwhelmed this term in trying to balance all my subjects, especially my 3/4 subjects with my 1/2 subjects. Though, I feel that during the past week I have found it a little easier.

How about you?  :)

I agree! I've been having the same issue! I have a few SACs this week but after that it'll be easier! :)

How's everyone going with finishing up their SACs? I'm quite disappointed because my school doesn't give us our rankings and percentages for SACs whilst other schools do.  I can see how it's a good thing but it can also be very annoying as well. Is anyone else experiencing this issue or is it just me? On another note, what are your plans for the upcoming holidays?

Hey, my school doesn't give us our rankings or percentages for SACs too so that's alright! We do get to know a range though (high, medium or low) but that's about it haha! I do find it quite annoying but at least I partially learned how to not worry about the past so that's good for me personally I guess. But then I sometimes find myself guessing what I got on the SAC than to actually do productive study haha! I personally finished all my harder SACs for the term so a lot of procrastinating right here :P

And yeah, holidays is here so time for more procrastination

Or maybe I should start studying for IELTS .-.

Last day of school tomorrow thankfully. Term ended a lot better than it started, spesh was just tragic at the start of the term..

Slightly failed to meet my goal in my first physics SAC, I think I still managed to rank within the top tier of my cohort though. But not rank 1.. :-X

Hey Shinkaze, yeah a lot of schools do that but some schools don't. My teacher gave me hints at my ranking but did not tell directly. :p

As for me I'm planning on doing some more work on my 3/4 subjects as I have SACs on both second week back. I'm also going to read ahead on my 1/2s and possibly read a book that my friend suggested. Oh yeah and procrastinate xD

If you don't mind me asking, why would you be doing the IELTS?

I guess that's not bad haha! Better than nothing!

Good luck on your SACs, I'm sure you've worked hard for both your 3/4 subjects so you will definitely do well in it :) and wow studying ahead for 1/2s. But yeah, sure sounds like you have a good plan of your holidays!

AHAHAH yeah sure, I'll be doing the IELTS because I might not meet the English requirements for university entry haha~ And also, I think the IELTS might be easier to do compare to VCE English so in case anything happens with that, I have IELTS as my back up!

Hahaha I guess you could say I did work hard, although I ended up scoring better for the 3/4 that I cared less for :/.

Yeah I will be reading ahead for my 1/2s mainly because I cannot be asked doing the actual work when school starts so I might as well do it now xD. I have been procrastinating by watching this new anime called Erased. It's been great so far and I highly recommend it to people that are into mystery anime.

So do you do the IELTS in yr 11 or 12 or both?

Also, does anyone here actually have plans that don't involve studying ? LOL I swear us class of 2017s are a bunch of nerds xD.

Ahh that's weird haha! I'm sure you still did well in your other 3/4 though! And yess I've heard of that anime and I *might* watch it, it's currently on my wish list but then that wish list is long so we'll see haha!
Nahh IELTS is a one-off thing so it's just one test that consists of all listening, speaking, reading and writing. And I'm pretty sure your IELTS result should last at least a year. My mum did it when she was like 35 so anyone can take it can take it any time as long as they offer it during that test date :) Good thing is that it is offered a few times a year unlike VCE english if you fail it you have to wait another year to take the exam .-.

And I guess 99% of my plan doesn't involve studying. Probably watching a lot of dramas haha!
