I don't know whether I'm more scared about the exams, or the fact that High School will be over and I won't really have a purpose after exams :')
Is anyone else starting to feel really nervous about going to uni next year? For me, uni means moving four hours away from where I currently live (#ruralstudentproblems), so I'm a bit terrified of where life will lead me when I move away from home. Anyone else feeling this way?

By the way, is anyone thinking about taking a gap year? I'm currently contemplating whether or not I should or not..

YAS.

I'm not a rural student at all but I'm planning on moving interstate next year (if everything goes to plan and the stars align for me) which means I'll have the joy of settling into a new place as well as a new university which is sorta similar to what you'll be doing.

And I'm petrified. Like legit, I'm so scared that it isn't even funny.  Have no idea what awaits me post-high school but I'm hoping it'll be fun and interesting and hopefully everything will be alright. Fingers crossed...

I've got my post-high school plans lined up already. Gonna go sit my L's, gonna go volunteer with a charity for a few weeks (already lined up) and gonna get a job (hopefully someone will hire me despite having no work experience at all). Also, my friends and I are doing a two month long movie marathon thing because they're determined to educate me on all things pop culture and movies because they're sick of me not getting their pop culture references so that'll be interesting.

Rural kids unite! It's a bit funny to hear people complaining about the fact that they have to commute from home to uni, or they say they say "oh I don't want to go to that uni because it's so far (1 hour) away!!" - I get that it is a long way for them (I also have nothing against city people), but I have an hour long bus ride just to get to school...I don't even consider an hour to be a long time for a journey! It's a very stark difference...for me to go to uni, I have to move out of home (not that I'm complaining that much...I'm ready to move out haha) and live hours away.

Not gonna lie though...I have had some people ask me if we even have power where we live... :-X

On the topic of being terrified about next year, the way I had a teacher explain it is, when you're at school, you always sort of know what's coming the next year...it's your next year of high school, you know what you're studying, etc. but when you're making the transition from high school to uni, you don't know what's in store for you...you don't even know if you'll end up studying what you want to! So that uncertainty is a big cause of stress.

-asking for a curious friend-
if they do English and Lit and somehow don't pass English, does Lit become their main English or are they stuck?

(In other news- first midyear exam done!) :D

I am pretty sure if they get less then 25 for English but pass for Literature, then they are fine. I believe you need to pass A ENGLISH SUBJECT and not specifically English but I could be wrong..... Personally I always assumed the prior.
