I don't know whether I'm more scared about the exams, or the fact that High School will be over and I won't really have a purpose after exams :')
Is anyone else starting to feel really nervous about going to uni next year? For me, uni means moving four hours away from where I currently live (#ruralstudentproblems), so I'm a bit terrified of where life will lead me when I move away from home. Anyone else feeling this way?
By the way, is anyone thinking about taking a gap year? I'm currently contemplating whether or not I should or not..
Rural kids unite! It's a bit funny to hear people complaining about the fact that they have to commute from home to uni, or they say they say "oh I don't want to go to that uni because it's so far (1 hour) away!!" - I get that it is a long way for them (I also have nothing against city people), but I have an hour long bus ride just to get to school...I don't even consider an hour to be a long time for a journey! It's a very stark difference...for me to go to uni, I have to move out of home (not that I'm complaining that much...I'm ready to move out haha) and live hours away.
Not gonna lie though...I have had some people ask me if we even have power where we live...
On the topic of being terrified about next year, the way I had a teacher explain it is, when you're at school, you always sort of know what's coming the next year...it's your next year of high school, you know what you're studying, etc. but when you're making the transition from high school to uni, you don't know what's in store for you...you don't even know if you'll end up studying what you want to! So that uncertainty is a big cause of stress.
