Haha my formal's food actually isn't too great :P

Hmmm does anyone have any good tips on dealing with stress? Sometimes I get really anxious to the point I kinda lose sleep  :'(

the food wasn't hugely great- but the dessert was  :) and I'm a sweet tooth so dessert all the way haha

umm...
how to deal with stress...
normally i kinda just do the thing thats causing me to stress and kinda talk it over with myself
like if I'm stressed about some test...i prep for it and tell myself that thats all anyone can really do...

one of my teachers (my accounting teacher) said that i looked stressed and tired on thursday and she told me to get one of those adult colouring books (seemed like an interesting idea)...what about exercising it off...like do a really hard workout (it works)..or not even a really hard one just go outside and walk around...or talk to someone (you can talk to me)
i kinda think there would be two methods of dealing with stress...one would be dealing with the factors surrounding it (like as i said if it's for a test----> study) or another would be just for like 20mins (or however long u need to) do something completely unrelated
oh and BREATHE---i know we all take normal breaths, but maybe just close your eyes and lay down and just breathe (kinda meditate- thou i haven't done this before haha)

i hope u found some of this useful  :)

Hmmm yeah I actually got an adult colouring book for my birthday this year, but haven't started colouring any yet, maybe I'll try doing that :D
Haha and yup meditation and breathing xD school actually gave us a seminar on that last week, maybe I'll try it out  ::)

Thanks again  ;D :D

Haha my formal's food actually isn't too great :P

Hmmm does anyone have any good tips on dealing with stress? Sometimes I get really anxious to the point I kinda lose sleep  :'(

Before this year, I was the sort of person who internalised my problems and then just had a bunch of mental breakdowns throughout the year where I'd bawl my eyes out over stupid stuff cuz all the stress had built up and I couldn't deal with it anymore. Not healthy, right?

It never hit me to reach out to anyone else and talk to someone about my troubles. My mother's the person I run to whenever I'm struggling with something and she doesn't always understand what I'm talking about because some of the things I'm going through she never had to go through and I've had bad experiences about reaching out to friends where I've been stabbed in the back, or they've used my personal struggles for their own gain or whatever.

Anyway... Earlier this year, someone reached out to me and proposed we become "English buddies" or something along those lines; I forget the exact details. Anyway, this guy reaching out to me proved to be one of the best things that have happened to me this year. He gets me and my crazy high achieving self in a way that no one else in my cohort does. He's rapidly becoming the person I reach out to whenever I'm upset about something re:school and I've come to consider him a good friend despite us having only known each other for a short period of time.

I've ranted to him about stuff that's upset me and he's probably talked me off the ledge of "I quit VCE. I quit Year 12. I quit life. I can't do this anymore!" more times than even he realises. I honestly couldn't imagine going through this horrible thing called Year 12 without him and without the support and strength he's given me. Without him, I'd probably be a complete and utter stressed out mess because y'know... internalising stress is really really really bad (in my experience anyway).

So basically? My biggest tip for dealing with stress? Reaching out to someone that understands. Reaching out to someone who's actually going to listen to your struggles and anxieties and worries and give legitimate advice. Reaching out to someone that won't judge you for feeling stressed and make you feel like you're unjustified for feeling anxious about VCE (I can't even count the number of people in my life who basically told me not to stress because I was "gonna get 100% anyway").

Okay. So talking to someone won't necessarily solve your problems and instantaneously cure you of your stress (I always used to think this too) but when I actually reached out to this guy and started ranting about whatever had gotten me upset, just the act of talking about it to someone else made me feel 1000000000x better...

Mmmm OMG can relate sooo much!
But yeah, mmm finding someone to talk to is good, but I kinda feel bad when I go on rants and complain :P Makes me feel like a negative ball of energy to my friends haha  :-X and makes me sound kinda ungrateful haha, since like having an opportunity for education itself is a privilege that not everyone has in the world :P

Thanks for the advice!! Your friend sounds like such a MVP (if AN had a thumbs up emoji I'd use it here ;))

Um I dislike that argument "since like having an opportunity for education itself is a privilege that not everyone has in the world."

You shouldn't feel bad that you feel bad just because you have a privilege others dont. Yes, there are many children around the world facing poverty - but your negative feelings are very real! It's weird how human emotion works, in a world where life makes sense then yes this argument would pass, but your feelings are very valid! Don't dismiss them (unless you think you are fine then in that case yay you!! :D)

this is a really good article on motivation if any one is interested, it isn't one of those " sign up for my magazine' ones but it actually just gets straight to the point on how to "create" motivation

Ok guys, I've been affronted by another challenge the stationery gods have presented me with.

I have purchased the previous pacer, which should arrive tomorrow (can't wait tbh not sure why but it's exciting. It's like choosing a weapon that you'll encounter battles with you know?)

Anyways, I have recently been made aware of a different mechanical pacer. This one, is thicker in lead (0.7mm, which I was initially looking for before I was enamored by the bewitching glare of the matte black mechanical pacer of 0.5mm thickness.)

This one, however, costs 20$ all up including postage...

Voice your concerns below, tell me if you think its worth it.

Cheers,

/swagadaktal out/
Does anyone know how to upload an image? it just comes up with [/img] and im like where the insert at fam?

What was the previous pacer you bought? I'm more of a Pentel guy myself, my P205 has been my daily carry since like year 9. However, Zebra's a solid pencils. Where will you be buying you 0.7 lead?

Haha so pricey! I personally love mechanical pencils, they're great :D
I'm a bit broke at the moment so my entire pencil case is not even worth one of those epic pacers.

And to insert an img, if you copy the direct link of the picture, then click on the insert image option and paste the link in bewteen the square brackets

Pentel leads are definitely the best for me. They don't break easily and are really smooth. I usually buy like 5 packets of the 2 pack ones at Office works  because I like them so much. I think 2B ones are better than HB ones :)
