Hey guys, a bit random but was wondering what everyone's doing to maintain physical fitness (and dat bod ) - in terms of working out and diet/what you've been eating?

Been tempted to get a gym membership but my good ol' yoga mat and free YouTube Pilates classes have been doing the job.

Hope everyone's keeping bod, brain and soul all well and healthy !

I usually just walk- a lot... (gotta hatch those Pokémon Eggs somehow ;) )
Other than that, I usually just head to the local sporting grounds with a ball and kick it around or run around the oval and the nearby wetlands for some cross-country to try and keep fit. :)
Hope this may be of some help! :)

I tend to prioritise working out so I go to the gym around 4-5 times a week. I used to go 6 but stopped due to health reasons. I'm hoping to start yoga classes and maybe join a sports team in the next few weeks too! #excited Generally though, I'm pretty active and I'm able to get at least 30 minutes of walking in per day just by walking to and from the train station.  ::)

In terms of eating - lot's of fruit, nuts, and other good foods. I'm not one for junk food so no problems with diet there.

bit random question, but what are our thoughts on designating bottom 10% subjects? tossing between spreading my effort across all my subjects vs 4 subjects i know i'll do better in, reckon it's a good idea? :)

Tbh I did 0 work for Chem last year. Safe to say, that was a brilliant move (since i played on ATARcalc and realised i needed to boost my predicted S.S of like 32 for Chem to like 44 (which takes tons of work) before it made the difference between 44 and 45 in English, and needed to change the 32 to like a 49 for the difference between 44 and 46 (pretty sure the latter is far easier).

It worked for me, and probably will work for a few people :P
Really depends on how you're coping with the workload. If you have enough time, try to do well in everything!

on assigning a subject to be your 10%, I think it's a good idea as others have said if there is a notable difference in your marks between that subject and the others

I did it (tbh I decided waaay too early hahaha) and without a year 11 3/4 to fall back on I guess it was "risky" but definitely paid off in the end and if I had to do it again I would

The only physical exercise I've done all year is carrying my textbooks around between classes... Used to be into running but not so much anymore because VCE.  ::)

Instead, I've picked up the sport of eating a crazy amount of food/chocolate. And yet somehow, I managed to drop 5kgs and go from a healthy weight range to underweight.  :o

Bad idea to ditch your fifth subject entirely (cos y'know, every mark matters!  ::) ). Ideally, you'll spread the effort across all of your subjects but if it's a throw up between a subject that you're gonna get a 50 in if you put in that extra hour of work vs. a subject that you're gonna get a 30 in if you put in that extra hour of work, I know what I'd choose.

Haha thanks for the input

Anyways, has anyone else started tsking photos / organising graduation things etc. yet?
Tomorrow, we're getting all the year 12s at lunch to take photos with teachers and at iconic places in the school (gotta relish high school while it lasts :p) as well as editing/adding to out final graduation video we're making (with my old year 7 photos LOL xD )
Despite wanting school to be over (moreso the workload of year 12) I'm really going to miss school so much :')
I think I'm going to tear up hard at grad (despite being a 6+ foot big dude LOL)
Sorry guys - don't mind me just drowning in nostalgia.

So I'm not personally doing anything.

But my best friend has been going hella crazy with the camera; she has like 4000 photos from Year 7 to Year 12 from excursions and whatever so she's decided she'll put those photos to good use (well... a use other than awkward throwbacks and birthday shout outs) and we're gonna use her photos for the graduation dinner my friends and I are planning on doing and val.

And she's also decided she wants to reenact her favourite photos/memories from our high school journey which has been hella fun.

To those of you who did the UMAT:

Dumb question but... Y'know how acer asked for "one form of photo-bearing identification" e.g. passport or whatever? How big of a deal is this ID? Can I sit the test without the ID or will that be a hell-no? I haven't got a *current* passport (you can really tell I don't travel in my free time, can't you?) or a license and am a bit hesitant to fork out the $$$ needed to buy a keypass when I'd probably only ever use it once.

Doing a test in a month with the same company so I'm assuming it'll be the same process as the UMAT.

It's a big deal. You need the ID and to follow all instructions you have. For the UMAT, I believe they allow for some signed letter from school that has your picture on it, but best to see what your instructions are.

GUYS.

Two things.

Firstly, how many practice exams should I be doing for each subject to get a REALLY good score and be really prepared. And company papers or VCAA? Just general advice.

Secondly, what do you guys think about study groups, and for which subjects would they be most effective? Also, if we were to conduct study sessions, how exactly would they work?

Thanks guys, I'm dying of stress, no joke. But I know when I'm dying, I can always count on the peoples of ATARNotes. 😊
