You won't need accounting to do corp fi, although in its last couple of weeks ACC1000 does touch on some very basic finance concepts (as Reckoner said) that are probably relevant to like, week 1 of BFC2140. I think there would be some 1st years doing the unit (mainly accounting and finance majors) although the majority would be 2nd years. Pretty sure it's usually recorded so you'd expect it would be the same next sem.

I haven't done BFC2140 but I did ACC1000 this semester and the finance portion is very short and simple, only a couple of weeks at the end. Even if it were assumed knowledge for BFC2140 I reckon you could learn it comfortably in a couple days. If anything, the finance part of ACC1000 will be a joke after doing corp fi.

Definitely don't delay ACC1000 if you want to major in accounting. It's a pre-req for everything else and if something bad happens down the line it could be a major headache if you're more than a semester behind.
