Is it too hard to do 6 subjects in year 12? Does it depend on the subjects or is 6 subjects in year 12 too hard regardless?

Personally, I'd avoid 6 in Year 12 at all costs lol. An extra 20% on top of your workload isn't worth an extra 3 or 4 marks onto your aggregate.
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

I think if you do one less subject, you will subsequently get more time to focus on the remainders, and as a result, you will get that extra amount of aggregate without having done extra subjects.

on the other hand, if you choose 6 subjects, you will probably end up with about the same amount of extra aggregate, but it would of course cost you much more effort.

You only get 10% of the work you put in come back out, its such a huge reduction. The difference between a 20->30 or even a 20->40 in your 6th subject is a meager 1-2. The entire subject itself, say you get 40, you will get 4.

IF you do 5 other subjects, to match what a 6th would get you (+4), you need to score 4/5 (0.8) for each of those subjects. If you think you can get 1 higher for your other 5, it is not worth it to do a sixth. Some like it is an insurance policy against an unusually disastrous mark but i think the added stress of a whole other unit, a whole other exam is not worth it.
