Creative and Analytical writing tips HELP ASAP PLS!

Hi guys
I'm taking an edutest exam for a selective entry school (yr11 intake) quite soon and I am concerned about the Creative and Analytical writing parts of the exam. I am fairly confident in regards to the multiple choice parts (Maths, Reading comprehension, Numerical reasoning and Verbal reasoning) but writing is not my forte mainly because I hardly ever practice. I've also procrastinated and havent prepared myself for those parts of the exam so now I need your help!  :-[ (I do this every time for exams)...
Firstly, for the analytical essay, does the question include all information on the topic and just require me to analyse and provide an opinion on the matter?? Or would they just say write about e.g. Animal Cruelty.. and I would need to go from there?
Also I would really appreciate any example of prompts for either essay just so I would have a better understanding of what to expect.
And any other tips/advice would be great!
Thanks in advance
-Your fellow procrastinator  :P

hey DMAN98,

I did the edutest exam for Nossal 2 years ago (for the year 10 intake) and got in.

For the analytical essay, we were only given a prompt and in my case it was "Technology has had a massive impact on our lives" or something along those lines. I guess they would be just asking you to analyse the statement from your point of view.

Well for the creative part, we were given a picture and had to make up something creative. I was given a picture of a torch and made a story that I remember reading a long time ago.

Personally, I wasn't prepared for the writing aspects of the exam either  and only did 1 or 2 prompts for each of those a few days before the test. But somehow, I think I did fairly well. According to my teachers, the most crucial thing is to express and present your material in a coherent and understandable manner.

and yeahhh... that's it from me :)

Thanks for the advice, Ive found out that the exam I will be taking does not actually follow the standard edutest format since Im applying for EBSS (winchesteraddict helped me out by letting me know).
This is what the exam will consist of...
1) Verbal Reasoning
2) Comprehension
3) Maths (Just Maths)
4) Science (bio, chem, phys)
5) Eng/Sci essay (It will be an english essay but it will be relating to Science)
