Hi everyone,

I was just wondering how you would link different things to global health? Like is global health referring to individual health and how that improves the health of a population, or is it overcoming inequity to improve the health of the worldwide population?

Just a tad confused..

It's both to an extent. There are several approaches to global health, but base on the two main ones you've listed: One where the health and wellbeing of individual members of a population are improved --> more people available for productive work --> overall better standard of living from a health and economic standpoint. The other involves (as you said) removing inequitable aspects (gender discrimination, inequitable access to healthcare, wage disparity etc.) from institutions and groups within and associated with the population to achieve long-term improvement in health and wellbeing in said population.

Global Health is about an international collaborative approach to achieve equality for all people worldwide. It extends beyond the individual and is concerned with the health of populations.
So you would talk about the "big" overall all perspectives.
But if you talk about individual health and then go onto talk about how if can affect the health and economic wellbeing of a country then you will get the marks :)
