Almost every university other than JCU and Bond University from my knowledge. 87 is more than enough, now you need to work on your ATAR

I thought Griffith and UNSW were exempt from the 50-50-50 rule?

Griffith doesn't consider UMAT.

I don't think Flinders has a 50/50/50 rule either.

Do you happen to know how UQ considers umat? I read Pi's thread about cut offs but I've also heard that they've accepted people with scores as low as 70th percentile in the past.

The way UQ does it is -

Hurdle ATAR 99.05 (equivalent to OP 1)

and ranking is entirely on sum of UMAT scores, using section 1 as a tiebreaker. In 2014, the UMAT cutoff was 180 [overall score of 60], with a 66 on Section 1 being the cutoff on tiebreaker (for unbonded). For bonded places though it was 169 [overall 56] with a section 1 tiebreaker of 70.

UMAT total 180 is approximately 85-90th percentile.
UMAT total 169 is approximately 70th percentile.

No interviews.

Damn I got a total of 176 (scores added to 177 though), guess this year was a harder paper!

By tiebreaker are we only talking about two people with the exact same UMAT score? Or is my 67 in section 1 going to help me in this regard?

Your score will be 177 then :)

And yeah, two people with the exact same UMAT score, that is on the cutoff.

Oh that's a shame for me then.

Do you know which university is typically the easiest to get into for med (other than JCU)? Be it provisional or undergrad.

That's brutal considering you got 99! Does anybody know which universities specifically go by the 50:50:50 rule other than UNSW and Monash? I got above 50:50:50 but then again I only got 87.

UNSW definitely does not use the 50-50-50 rule. My friend got 89th percentile with less than 50 in S2 last year so he was out of the selection pool for Monash but is currently studying medicine at UNSW.

Im in Year 11 doing 2 3/4s, so ill wait until those exams are done before even considering to practice.

I started prepping for the UMAT in early December last year. I just started by reading through the guides and watching prep videos. The first exams I did were the ACER practice exams as they tend to be a tad more accessible than external companies (so I thought I'd ease my way in). I think with prep it's important to find a balance between the UMAT and actual subjects, and everyone has different ways of structuring prep.
