SEAS - medical condition

Hey guys,

So i was thinking of applying for SEAS under a medical condition but I'm not sure how relevant it is?
Its a bit embarassing to say but, basically i have haemorrhoids, and have had then since October last year. It's really made it difficult for me to sit for long periods of time, and even reached the point of going to hospital over the easter holidays. I also missed out on a SAC because I had to go have it checked out for an operation. It's been a real pain in the ass (pun intended). I'm planning on having the operation after exams, not before as I won't be able to sit for about 2 weeks.

Obviously this is very humiliating to talk to my career counsellor about and have her write me an impact statement, so before I go through that pain I just wanted to know if this even is grounds for SEAS?

Any help appreciated. Thanks

If your medical condition (no matter what it is) has in some way made studying for year 12 more difficult, you have grounds to apply for SEAS with that condition.

Please don't be afraid to talk to a teacher about it, I was also a bit embarrassed to tell the teacher helping me with the application my reason for applying but he didn't even care once I had told him. It just made it easier for him to answer specific questions.

Just so you know too, you will need to write in 2000 characters or less how its effected you. Then you need a supporting statement. As its a medical reason, your doctor is probably the best person to give you this. I'm told that all the supporting statement needs to be is an acknowledgement that they have treated you for these reasons and that they can confirm the reasons given in the statement. Pretty short stuff really.
