Hello, i have recently received an offer for a place at JMSS. But the thing is, I'm currently at Nossal, and I'm loving it here. The teachers are good (at least mine are), Im doing well academically, and I feel comfortable here. I want a career preferably in medicine or health (doctor or psychiatrist) as my reason is really because I want to help people on a more personal level.
I'm torn between the two as JMSS is supposedly meant to assist me to get into a med degree at monash uni, since it specialises in maths and science (yes I know it also does other things), and it's so involved with the uni, but I've heard that unless I am a hardcore science person (which I'm not) it won't be great for me. I don't know which one to choose, as I want to choose the best option for my goal, but I'm not sure which one will be more beneficial for me.
If anyone is able to give any relevant information, has gone through similar situations, or has gone to/attends JMSS or someone with advice for my path, please help me. Thanks :)

If you like Nossel and you just got in this year, why would you just leave your friends there?

Just reading the bold parts is enough to convince to me that you should stay at Nossal. You seem to be enjoying it there and have found a place where you fit in comfortably with lots of good friends. I think you should stay at Nossal and just hope for the best. I understand that the career you want is somewhat science based, but if you're already on a good path with everything you want in mind I don't think the change to JMSS would be worth it. :)

With whatever you choose, let's hope you get the best out of it. :D

imo, since you want to pursue medicine as a career, I suggest JMSS.
JMSS can teach into great depth and help you with unique resources such as access to Monash Uni! I believe the facilities there will help you achieve your career much easier and more intriguingly. You may even change your mind as to what you want to do in JMSS, because they show you so many brilliant sciences and the unique subjects - wow! Being a maths and science school, I think it is great for your interests (if science interests you). I got accepted into JMSS for year 10 next year too!
Although, Nossal is excellent too. I do not know too much but I think they have a special way of teaching? Idk. You could explore and learn other subjects too instead of mainly science.

Thats just my opinion though  ;) Good luck in your choice  :)
ahaha congrats you got in man, but i've made my decision to stay as i feel that nossal is more flexible for my plans and im very deadset on doing medicine (which isnt really a science intensive course besides chemistry i believe) because i want to become a psychiatrist. and from what i've heard from students who have left nossal to go jmss, that it wasnt a wise choice for them. but we are different people with different dreams, and i hope you will reach yours at jmss. good luck
