VCE Psychology, Legal studies or Accounting 3/4????

Hey everyone :)

I'm about to go into year 12 and I am having a dilemma. I don't know which subject to do! My aim is to score my best in a subject so that I can get a high atar score. I can only choose 2 out of these three subjects. Which one would give me the highest score?

I think how well you do in a subject really depends on the amount of effort you are willing to put in and whether you actually enjoy the subject itself or not. Since you mentioned you're going into year 12, I'm assuming you're in year 11 this year yeah? Are you doing any of these subjects this year? If so, I recommend choosing the subjects you enjoy the most.

Personally legal studies was one of my favourite subjects (still is), the content was much more interesting in unit 4. However the amount of information I had to memorise was pretty hefty but definitely achievable. It is an extremely competitive subject as it is not as difficult as some of the other subjects (debatable depending on individual opinions).

As for accounting, the content it self is not too challenging, personally I think the most difficult part is trying to minimise mistakes in the process of recording transactions. There's a bit of theory but nothing too difficult.

No comment on psychology as I have no experience with that subject at all. However a few of my friends did it and said its a pretty interesting subject.

Even though I mentioned this earlier, it is crucial that you choose the subjects you will enjoy the most. This way you'll get the most out of year 12, see it as learning and researching about something you really love and interested in (like googling your favourite movie or something :P), rather than studying just for the sake of studying and obtaining an ATAR. Also pick subjects that are somewhat relevant to what you would like to do after year 12.

Hope this helped and good luck for year 12  :)
