Okay, that really depends on your ranking within your cohort itself. If you're ranked first for example, your cohort means nothing, as long as you also rank first on the exam, but if you're ranked on the lower end or middle of the spectrum, their performance will have a much larger impact on you, although this still won't play a very large part if you rank first from your cohort on the exam.

Summary: It really depends on how you're ranked and exam performance, without more information, it's too hard to say for sure.
