Study score predictions
« on: October 29, 2014, 03:51:09 pm »
Sacs: B+, B
Rank: top third in a weak cohort of 50
Exam section A, B, C: 6/10, 7/10, 4/10

The 2 articles screwed me over and I'm guessing most people struggled with it.
Any predictions?

GA1: B
GA2: A
(keep in mind these were atrocious scores lololol, I got 15/30 and shit so I'm hoping it gets scaled. I was ranked very badly in a strong cohort due to messing up a few things).

Exam section a,b,c (I write best case/worst case scenario): 9/8 - 8/7 - 9/7

Study score prediction: If I received 38 I would be over the moon (alluding to Yvette) :D

Whilst I'm doing this for my own sake to reflect upon in a month or twos time, I think a less pretentious thread should be 'what do you think the A+ cut off will be!'

A 9/8/9 would comfortably get you over 38. In fact, 24 is needed to crack the 40, a 26 should get you a 42ish. Good job!

GA 1 (Unit 3) : C+ or B unscaled
GA 2 (Unit 4) : B unscaled
GA 3 (Exam) : Anywhere between C+ to A, disappointed if below

Section A : Predict 7/10, Henry IV was incredibly easy this year (good ol Falstaff) and I am pretty confident that I did well

Section B : Predict 5/10, I think I didn't align my piece with the prompt enough and for some reason I did a creative even though I was planning for persuasive

Section C : Predict 6/10, I'm garbage at lang analysis but this year's was relatively easy, but I can already feel something was lacking in my piece

Worst scenario would be 5, 3, 4 respectively. I probably should have studied more (did like 2 essays total) but no use dwelling on that.

Ranking - within bottom 30-50 % of an extremely strong cohort

Scaling at my school is really god damn strong and our median is high for English, so I'm guessing 34-36 SS, worst scenario 30-31
First case scenario, 18/30 is about low 30s, 31-34ish, considering your sac marks scale up crazy due to your good cohort

Second case scenario -> 12/30 .. Maybe just 30, 28-30ish..

Yeah sure, (these are just predictions by the way, and I'm not taking account of you sac scores, so don't fully trust my predictions :D. You may get lower, or maybe even higher :).

Your worst case scenario -> 8/7/7 = 22.

21 is needed to crack the 35 apparently, and 24 is needed to crack the 40. So you're right in the middle, would say about 36-38.

AHHHH! I HOPE FOR THE BEST! Then again, I wanted a 34 ... a 38 would still be a god send. If I ever broke 40, I think I would celebrate like no tomorrow.

How did you go ROD?

GA 1 (Unit 3) : A+ 89
GA 2 (Unit 4) : A+ 95

EXAM:
Section A : 8/10 - although i think i could possibly get a 9

Section B : 8/10

Section C : 8/10 also, though i worry that i might slip to a 7 (hopefully not any lower)

Ranking - all i know about this is that i'm ranked 2nd or 3rd out of about 300 kids? i think it's a pretty weak cohort but i have no clue how to find out that exact information

plz somebody anybody give me a rough indication

If im in the top 5 of an average cohort of 50

And I get

8/10 Sec A
6/10 Sec B
6/10 Sec C    Worst case

and

9/10
6.5/10
7/10            Best case

GA 1 (Unit 3) : 94% A+
GA 2 (Unit 4) : 100% A+
GA 3 (Exam) : A+

Section A : Predict ~9/10, Stasiland - Very accessible topic

Section B : Predict ~9/10, Spies - I had a pretty good essay to address the Whose Reality prompt

Section C : Predict ~10/10 - Was hoping for a comparative!

Rank 1 overall in a cohort of ~80-100

45+?

haha yep hope for the best!

Yeah I went alright. I went to the gym for 2 hrs straight away after the exam so I've literally forgotten what I wrote (which is a good thing haha). 38-39 for me would make my day.
