Identifying register

When identifying register in section A&B, is it alright to simply state one of Joos' formality scale items, i.e.:

• Frozen
• Formal
• Consultative
• Casual
• Intimate

Or do you have to say 'Relatively formal/informal' or something like that? Because my teacher said we should avoid making vague statements such as 'relatively formal' and just stick to one of the above items.

Thanks for the response, but I was more so wondering if it's better to saying something like "The text displays a relatively informal register" or "The text displays a casual register".

Personally, I would go with the first one because if it isn't casual, then you could lose marks for incorrectly identifying it.
If you just say "relatively informal", you can later on discuss how informal it actually is.
