ATAR Notes Lectures

Hey guys!

Figured we may as well just have an extra board here instead of having different questions scattered around the place.

So to clear things up: yes, we are charging for notes. The reason notes weren't mentioned at all in any of our advertisements or anything like that is because we weren't sure whether we would be able to make them free or not, so we didn't mention them while we tried to figure it out. As things turned out, it wasn't possible to make them free, and everyone attending the lectures will get an email reminding them about the lecture and notifying them that notes will be for sale. This is why there's been some confusing - people who have been to Spesh obviously got this email, but everyone else has sort of been unintentionally 'left in the dark'. Methods, Spec and English cover the whole year within the notes, and the other subjects are just Unit 3 (but still sizeable... 70+ pages for Biol, Physics, English... close to that for Chem, and 50 pages or so for Business and Health). It is not necessary to buy the notes for the lectures to  be helpful, but the notes will certainly be helpful in and of themselves. Notes are being sold for $20, and lecturers = authors.

As said, we'll be emailing everyone quite soon.

Spesh was on Monday and went off really well, attendees will get an email asking for their feedback likely at the end of the lecture series. Thushan's Chemistry lecture is next up, this Monday.

I think that should answer any questions. Feel free to ask a question here, or if you have specific questions about a lecture, you can make a new thread or anything like that. Cheers guys :)

Obviously AN is a highly credible source and the lecturers involved are top class, therefore is it possible to purchases notes even if you didn't attend the lecture?

It'd be good for those who missed out due to spacing, or perhaps want another quality set of notes, or can't afford the prices of other companies.

Maybe up the fee for delivery, office pick up or something along those lines?
The GOAL: Attain a RAW study score of 40+ in all my subjects.

Courses I would like to study in order of preference include: Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Biomedicine or Bachelor of Science.

2014: Biology [42]
2015: English Language [??] | Chemistry [??] | Physics [??] | Mathematical Methods (CAS) [??] | Specialist Mathematics [??]

We haven't yet discussed providing notes after the lecture series. We know there are a few people that are very keen on it, so we will obviously discuss it once the lectures are over, but up until that point we're focussing on the most urgent things, and questions of how to provide notes etc are of a less urgent nature than other things at the moment.

Awesome!! Good to know I'm not the only one that's keen on the notes :)

We'll be absolutely sure to let everyone know if notes become available after the lecture series; we know a lot of people missed out.

Hi!
It says in the reminder emails to bring our printed ticket to the lecture, however, if we have the Eventbrite app, could we present the electronic version instead?

Hi,
How do you actually get to Melbourne School of Design - B117? I'm coming from the South Yarra area.

Any help would be appreciated,

From Union House, you walk down further down, past Union lawn and you should reach this classy, modern architecture: the Melbourne School of Design building.
That's all the information I can offer :) There are many maps on campus and people to ask, they should be able to direct you to Union house (and/or MSD). From MSD buliding, you can get to the B117 lecture theatre by following the rest of the ATARNotes kids (or by following the signs).
Here is a campus map for your discretion: http://maps.unimelb.edu.au/parkville/building/133

Good luck on finding your way there!

If printing tickets aren't an option, digital tickets are fine, but we really would prefer printing tickets. Reason being, we tick names off a list. If we have paper tickets, we can take your paper, let you in, and tick your name off in the lecture. That can't be done with a digital ticket. To anyone reading, if printing is an option, please do it, but if it isn't, don't stress :).

Remember your scientific calculators for Chem!

Lost on campus app is also really valuable finding your way around.

Isn't he phenomenal? I actually felt like I was learning Chemistry. Let's all get some Teflon in case it rains acid. Damn protons flying everywhere.
