Physics textbook alternatives

Hi all,

As anyone who as done 1/2 or 3/4 physics would know, the VCE textbooks aren't really the best source of problems/questions for learning and practising the theory. I used the Heinemann textbook in year 11, and have flicked through the year 12 book, and noticed a very similar lack of relevance and difficulty in the problems at the end of each section of the book.

As supplementary material and SAC revision resource I have bought the checkpoints book, but I'm not really certain that will be quite enough for the year.

Does anybody have any good alternatives/extra resources/ weblinks or otherwise useful material as a source of practice questions or revision tools for 3/4 physics?

Thanks

If you want something as extra practice or revision, I would recommend going through first-year physics textbook. They go through in far more depth in terms of explaining and proving concepts, and their problems usually require much more than the "plug and chug" of the VCE 3/4 Textbooks.

A book I would recommend is Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick, Walker (though it uses calculus which isn't on the VCE course).

Otherwise, I've found Khan Academy and the MIT lectures a useful resource.
