That was probably on '06 or '07 I think it was where they had two ridiculously easy exams. Last year, I would have dropped at least 4 marks on the second exam (fricken probability), and then a further 1 or 2 I imagine on the final moderated SAC score since I wasn't ranked that well at all (average was probably only around 80%), and well, that's a 49.

From what I can remember, I lost 1 mark on the first exam and 2 marks on the second exam. My SAC average wasn't too great though; my average was around 85%.

I'm pretty sure you lost less than 5 exam-value marks overall ^^

Yeah I heard of a similar situation too. Full marks exam 2 and lost 1 on exam 1 and couldn't get a 50, scared me about Methods quite a bit. Does that mean that all 50s get premiers awards? Because you would have to get full marks on both exams... :S

If you can lose 4 on exam 2 and get a 49 I think that's an acceptable amount.

Makes me worried about physics. Do you think more people aced physics than '06 methods?

Around 600-700 ppl would have got 86-90. Do you reckon 100 out of them could have got full marks? Apparently there are less than 20 50s for physics........

Best hope for physics is that the next exam is made difficult......if it is easy like this one (or easier...) then I would expect only full marks on both would yield a 50.

Just wondering, if you lose 1 mark over both exams and you fullscore your SAC then is 49 the lowest score you can get? It's like a discrete ranking system, right? So full marks could be 50, then if you lose marks then your absolute minimum SS is ?

Did this happen for methods '06?

Perhaps I'm just misunderstanding what you're saying, but it looks very wrong to me. In the end, it still comes down to a normal distribution with mean 30 and SD of ~7 I think it was. If a lot of people did well, it's very possible that you can lose more points of SS than you did exam marks. I think this did actually happen in '06 where if I remember correctly, someone lost 3-4 marks and got a 42 or so.
