My teacher gave us a prompt to write on each character in the film, just a paragraph though.
"All about Eve is really all about power. Each character struggles to obtain and maintain power over others." To what extent do you agree?
I did Margo Channing, and would like some advice, did I use good techniques and ideas?( I shortened AAE and I won't do it in an exam)
AAE's charismatic star, Margo Channing is woman trying to come to terms with the big "four-o", within a society of patriarchy where stultifying effects of a society dominated by men and the idealistic women creates a destructive pathos in her goal to secure her young boyfriend, Bill Sampson. From falling for a "young wide eyed babe". Knowing her place in society as a mature actress ready to retire and become a fully fledged housewife. Disillusioned thoughts start to emerge and her insecurities start to flare up by 'the miss Eve Harrington". Bill's late arrival for his party, contemplates the that he purposely stayed with young Eve and not his problematic Margo. Upon her immediate arrival, Eve is scene sitting while Bill stands over her. Eve's actions fulfills the passive qualities of a young women and only makes Margo insecure about her relationship with Bill. Nevertheless Bill remarks his loyalty to Margo in a fire fulled argument, that leaves Margo in tears seen in a wide angle shot in her own and true world, the theater. Contextualizing her place, and displaced views from whats real and not real. Conforming to tradition, "to play(ing) parts I'm too old for just because I've got nothing to do with my nights". She realizes that her man has become the more important thing, than applauds of "delinquents", and relaxes the need to be a 'great actress and a great woman"
