Tips for section 3?

So I've done a fair few drills on both Medentry and SectionZero and have found that I do consistently do well in sections 1 and 2 but similarly consistently do poorly in section 3. When I say poorly, I mean 27th percentile for section 3 on one of the medentry exams.

My main problem is when there's something I can't map, or when the question is just made of random shapes and I can't figure out how they move, I get stuck. Even if I can map the question, if it doesn't fit any pattern I've come across before (either in a previous question or the Medentry/Sectionzero notes) I pretty much just can't do it. Does anyone have any tips on how to get around this?

I'm so glad you asked this question, I literally cannot even answer any of the pick the middle questions correctly.

Did either of you find a way to work these out? I'm stuck too. :(

I did actually and I wish I could pinpoint a specific thing that helps you improve but honestly, I can't. I just remember that one day it clicked and all of a sudden I could do section 3 questions. My advice would be to just continue doing practice questions; it'll come to you eventually so don't be disheartened!

Keep a list of patterns going - and update/revise it always. Works wonders when you naturally remember patterns - because remember there's only a legitimately finite number of decent patterns that can be used.

Also remember that some patterns are wayyy too hard and don't worry too much about them :)
