Are SAC ranks within class or the whole year level?

Eg. in English is your SAC rank just for your class or the whole year level?

its for everyone in the whole school who is doing the unit 3/4 subject at the same time
so a year 10 doing 3/4 english is ranked against a year 12 doing 3/4 english regardless of which class theyre in

Probably not a great mentality, though. You also want them to do well on the exam(s).

Personally, I think SAC ranks for English should be within class. Each teacher would have differences in the way they mark, even with cross marking and moderation etc.

How would this be accounted for?

Moderation shouldn't happen on a class level it should be done over the cohort. Cross marking if done properly will make sure marking across classes is consistent.
