Did nothing today either OMG

SACs are like in one week >:( :'( #ownfault

No offense or anything but whinging isn't the solution. Turn off this screen, stand upright and promise yourself to do work. It's simple. The effects of demotivation is just psychological.

Unless you do the work, don't expect results. Good luck and come back when you've turned off this screen and actually did something and you'll see your and "motivation" levels change in an instant. That simple.

I'm struggling with motivation as well at the moment, however something I have found works for me is staying at school to study during my free periods. This obviously won't work on weekends but consider staying back at school during the week to study and then heading off to the library on weekends. I can never find the motivation to study at home so maybe you're the same?

Why? Whether one likes it or not, it's a stone cold fact. Take running as a similar example--your mind will give up way earlier than your body is physically incapable of running. It's just whether or not you have the willpower to continue. This is the same in studying; you need mental fortitude and discipline in order to properly focus and study, and this is something that needs to be developed and nurtured. In my opinion, it's terribly difficult to break bad habits of procrastination and lack of studying at first, but it slowly becomes easier over time as you build a routine.

but it's true ... it's a misconception that you need "motivation" to get things done.

The reality is that you have to "do it" whether you feel like it or not.   If you wait for that perfect moment or feeling or whatever it's never going to happen.

I couldnt disagree more. Without the motivation, your not going to want to do it at all. Its motivation that provides the basis of the mental self control to achieve a goal. Motivation itself is the perfect moment or feeling. Without it, your not going to want to do it. If you want something badly enough, that is your motivation to achieve the goal, to do what ever it takes. Motivation is what gets things done, without it your screwed. Even if its tasks you odnt like doing such as washing. Without the motivation to get it out of the way so you can spend time doing some you enjoy, your not going to do it. I think motivation is often portrayed as something that has ot be big or life changing. People forget its the small things too.

I was referring to the comment that 'demotivation is just psychological'. Yes generally people do have to do things when they don't want to and  I believe that there are things that OP can do, to get some studying down. But saying that something is 'just psychological' is belittling mental illness (whether this was intentional or not)

First of all, teachers give so much work online nowadays so yeah, I kinda can't really turn off the computer. Plus I also do a subject by distance, and now the entire coursework is done online, so yeah.

No offence taken :). Your point is true, and I'm not really expecting results anyway at the moment.

I just cannot study at school haha! :P (not that my friends are distracting or anything)
But it's great to hear that it's worked for you! :)

Hmm... do you have anyone that might be willing to help/study with you? I've often found that if I'm around friends who are motivated then I am too. Alternatively, would any of your teachers be willing to help out?
