The topics on last year's exam were:

1. Design an experiment which proves that salt water has a higher boiling point than normal water. Use diagrams

Or

Explain the respiratory system. Use diagrams

2. Explain molecules to a year 5 student, include diagrams

And about superiors, the exam sets an academic benchmark which you have to meet to even be considered for an interview. The interview is really based on what else you can offer to the school aside from academics, they look for your passion and extra curricula activities.

Post if you want more questions answered!

Good luck!  :)

Yeah you don't need superiors at all! Also, I thought one of the questions was explaining the relationship between respiratory system and circulatory system and another one is explain the difference between an atom and a cell (this screwed me up so I'm pretty sure about this one >.<) to a year 5 student?

What do you guys think the topics will be this year? I feel like one of them will be to do with plate tectonics and all of that stuff.

I hope not I got a C+ for our plate tectonics test T_T
Hoping so hard for one of these topics
Physics: light, sound, forces/motion, energy
Chemistry: chemical reactions, atomic structure
Biology: any of the body systems (except hormonal and reproductive they have so much memorising), anything related to plants, DNA structure and evolution

Yeah, thats the usual stuff, they would expect you to have a basic understanding of scientific principles (common sense is very important too).
Dw, they will most likely give you a topic which everyone would have knowledge about, or if there are two choices on the test, choose the easiest for you.

year 10s have their test this Saturday!!!

Yeah, next Saturday, the 30th. Ive got some friends trying out, hope they get in. Around 25 get in for year 11 btw.

Good luck!! :)

If any of you guys know, can someone list all the science essay topics from past years? After being told the essay topics of last year, im scared cause I couldn't answer the molecule question at all.
