I know a bunch of people applied from my school, and i have a friend on the waiting list. Anyone know how many people they accept per school?

Not in year 8/9 or from JMSS but I know this because my brother applied.

It's a maximum of 3% from your school cohort (i.e. if you have 200 people in your year level then 3% of that would be 6 and so on).
BSc (2015), MD1 (2016)
Tutoring in 2016: http://www.tutorfinder.com.au/tutors/detail.php?TutorID=78301
Chuck a PM if interested :)

Available for tutoring on the summer holidays for university subjects or VCe.
Also tutoring for the Melbourne uni MMIs (medical/physiotherapy interviews)

Please don't PM me for lecture slides or recordings. I don't have them anymore.

Hey guys, on the second page of the web that we need to complete to accept the offer, it asks u to fill out the student detail. (i.e.  SMI0001 SMITH John Yr9 2012)
Do we have to do it?? I mean, do we fill out ours??or does it mean to fill out the student details of ur siblings attending JMSS???

Thankyou
Just another ques tion, is there some sort of mark that you need to pass in order to do methods?
Not so much a mark but more if you're in the top 50 after marking of the Methods exam since they take 50 people into Methods in Year 10. It does sound bad taking the top 50 based on this but the test is fair and more relaxed than ever (and pretty easy in hindsight without doing Methods 1&2 beforehand) but Undeadeast15 has pretty much nailed what to study for the exam :)

Yeah, that makes sense. It's a bit faster now. :P My dad did it from overseas so in his timezone, everyone here was asleep so he probably had it quite fast. XD I'm just checking over now.

Does anyone who currently attends JMSS know which science based electives to choose (from experience)?, or which are the most enjoyable?
I can't make my mind up between "Analytical and Spectroscopic Science" or "Cells to Systems"
BTW: I'm definitely going to be doing nanoscience and technology.

I did neither but in my mentor there are a few Year 10's who took Analytical and Spectroscopic Science (if you didn't know, mentor groups consist of Year 10's, Year 11's and Year 12's) and I've had to help them with their homework sometimes but I find with this elective that it's very much Unit 3 Chemistry which is pretty neat since most schools won't be doing titrations and whatnot in Year 10 (I think you visit Monash to do things too)!
I've heard good things with "Cells to Systems" in how the processes taught are applicable to Unit 4 Biology (Mitosis etc.) so both will prepare you adequately for Unit 3&4 if you choose those two subjects :)

Having said that, when Information Night comes along, you should receive a booklet of all the subjects on offer at JMSS with a brief description of each elective and what you'll be doing for that elective (which runs for a semester).

What's the school hours for JMSS?
Is there a day where school finishes earlier?

When is the year 10 information night?
On my calendar, it says October 6 (around 6pm - 8pm depending if they split it up into family names so you may be in the first half or second half) :P
