Already have the lead by two tips, Great effort this week by the doggies!

Some really close calls for Round 2: Adelaide vs Port Adelaide, Brisbane vs North Melbourne (let's not underestimate Brisbane, especially at home) and Hawthorn vs West Coast are only a few of the tough decisions us tippers need to make.

Well done so far. I agree in regards to Brisbane - they managed to score 100 against West Coast last week. It's interesting to point out that the teams at the lower end of the spectrum last year are much better this year. This means a more competitive season, which is great! Hopefully someone other than Hawthorn win this year :)

I don't think Jed Anderson being out for us due to injury isn't necessarily a game changer - we basically won that game against Adelaide without him, since he went off the ground during the first half of the 2nd quarter.

Scored 7 this week. Missed North and Geelong. But the Dees got up!

Has anyone been keeping up to date with the news about the new footy show host (Rebecca Maddern)? I think it's great that they're taking a different direction, and quite appalled at the sexist comments on FB who are simply hating on her because she's a woman. Pretty disgusting.

Come on, she hasn't even done a single ep yet!!

I'm thinking Richmond v. Carlton, Melbourne v. Greater Western Sydney and Geelong v. Hawthorn. But I guess the Melbourne game is the only one I will absolutely, definitely go to.
Wonder if you ended up going to all these of these games. These three were probably the best of the first round!

I was almost out the door to the third when something came up, meaning that I couldn't go. I would have loved to have been there! Was a ripper game.

I went to the other two. :)

Thought I would join the AN tipping competition. I have not watched an AFL game for about 4-5 years, the last thing I remember is seeing brendan fevola kicking a goal and hitting the post (slightly) and they had to review it haha. Anyways I joined but its too late to tip for round 1 right?

Yep, Round 1 won't count unless you were a member and tipped for Round 1 on AFL.com.au. The AN comp is essentially just the in-house ladder, that's all it really is. I'm looking into a custom tipping system for next year  8)... but we'll see about that.

Seriousssllyyyy @ 1 point.

At least we're getting more intense games now. I'll give the AFL that. The reduced interchange cap works wonders

Judging by things at the moment, the top 8 will look way different to what it did last year (of course, most likely to change since it's only round 2). But the fact is, Hawks lost to Geelong.... Richmond nearly lost to Carlton.... GWS lost to Melbourne.

Like I said as well, reducing the interchange cap from 120 to 90 really shook things up I reckon. Teams now have to manage their changes better. Plus the removal of the sub rule means that you can't swap a tired player for a fresh one (unless you use 1 of your ints).
