Hey guys!
I'm kind of confused about the whole UMAT thing. I know it's a test for students wanting to get into health sciences but when do you actually sit it? Is it possible to get into medicine without sitting it and can you study for it?

https://umat.acer.edu.au/ dates and stuff are here. You can get grad med without it but you would need to do an undergrad and sit the gamsat for that so it becomes 7 years ( 3 +4, the undergrad being 3 years ).

So if i'm in year 12 do I sit the umat during or after?

Assuming you mean "during or after" year 12, in which case you sit it during year 12 if you want to study next year at university.

Kinda off topic, but is it really necessary to study for the umat? Obviously a few questions to expose yourself to the type of questions is essential, but isn't the whole point of the test that you can't study for it?
