MD/DDS 2016 Entry Questions!!

If some dent results are out by the end of sem 1 then surely it will count to your GPA? If it's released at the end of the year then I might consider that backup pathway.

I'm fairly certain post grad degrees (DDS/DO/DPT) don't count to your GPA (as they aren't undergraduate?)

I thought they used the results of the last 3 years of a full degree? So if you did dent you wouldn't be able to use your dent degree and they'd just take your biomed results.

Right. I was under the impression that it was just the last three years of any university degree. That clears things up.

If I miss my CSPs I might just do that and reapply in 1st year of DDS (if I get into DDS!) : ))

CSP spots for DDS at UoM (cos no interview) are pretty competitive. IIRC the lowest score I saw last year for CSP was about 6.5-6.6ish GPA with 70 GAMSAT. USyd and UWA are lower + have interviews but then you'd have to move.

Sorry to spoil the party, but applying to DDS with the intention of leaving after the first year is very selfish. You'd be taking an opportunity away from a legitimate student. Just my two cents.

Also, as above, your GPA is calculated from completed (or about to be completed) degrees. I think Russ said something similar a while back too.

I'm confused what documentation I'm supposed to post to GEMSAS for the 12th and 26th June

I understand them needing my academic transcript. am I supposed to order the one that includes up to the end of 2nd year and post that by the 12th June? or the one that includes the Semester 1 2015 results?

any help would be really appreciated

Hey buddy, I think GEMSAS automatically gets your documents (academic transcript) from the uni directly?

For UoM dent I remember I had to order an academic transcript last year and mail it. I vaguely remember needing to send two transcripts; the second one being after the rest of my results came out. Not certain anymore though. I would call up UoM.

Current undergraduate studies (Semester 1) - If you will be completing an undergraduate Degree in 2015, send your
Coversheet and Transcripts for all study including 1st semester results, postmarked no later no later than 31st July
2015.
Current undergraduate studies (Conditional Offer) - If you have been made a conditional offer and have completed
an undergraduate Degree or any single subject pre-requisite studies in 2015, send your Coversheet and Transcripts
including final results and degree conferral, postmarked no later than 7 January 2016.

Haha what? Where did you get these dates from? It says one transcript is due on the 31st of July and the 2nd one in January. Unless I'm missing something

So we will need to order our transcript AFTER all semester 1 results arrive?

What are the thoughts on a BMP at UoM vs CSP at Monash or Deakin given that RoS is now gonna be 1 year? Is 1 year gonna have a huge impact on working back in metro areas?
