Is that why UoM had to slash its number of Arts subjects in two and made large portions of the faculty redundant? :)

You say that as if less arts is a bad thing.

Sif we need arts. Maths or GTFO! :)

Haha! I remember when these protesters stormed into our Introductory Macroeconomics lecture about the Arts subjects, and everyone was booing the protesters.

Should've yelled out

"get a real degree"

or alternatively, alluding to a future career path:

"can i have fries with that?"

This is turning into an arts bashing thread quite quickly, and I like it :D

What a waste of three years.

As funny as Arts students getting fucked over is... UoM is losing power, money and influence. The fact that they had to downsize the faculty in the first place shows that they're operating at a loss.

Wrong. Clearly this person doesn't understand the idea of marginal benefits.

LOL :) just kidding

I'm not really against Arts (nowadays - but I was before), but I certainly think that Arts students protesting in a commerce lecture is destructive to their cause. I also think that the university should be left free to cut courses that they are running at a loss. If you want them to run it, you should be expected to pay higher fees or to recruit more people who want to run the subject.

Yeah, haha! On the way back from Monash after pre-enrolment I had some mates in the car and we were telling my female friend that now as a female in the engineering department, she could choose anyone she wanted, but we'd still recommend against ever doing so. ;D
