There are different kinds of intelligence. There are people who can get 99+ enters but lack social intelligence, logical reasoning, musical intelligence etc.

What type of intelligence are you measuring? Assuming the (more easier to understand) Gardner's theory has some truth.

What is the example? If you can share it.

i.e. How does it relate.

Well I think it's pretty easy to deduce anyway? From what I see, TT's referring to kamil obviously being quite 'intelligent', but this just wasn't reflected in his VCE score. Although I'm unaware of his actual score, or any circumstances which may have impacted on it, I don't think this is necessary to the point he's making anyway.

I've always seen the ENTER as more of a measure of how committed you are to your studies. I mean, most people can get a decent score if they just tried hard enough.

On the other hand of the spectrum, some people do extremely well with minimal effort.

I'd say that if there was a definitive way of measuring intelligence, and we placed these results against ENTER Scores, there would be a correlation. Although... I have friends that would blow your mind if you spoke to them (they are the most 'intelligent', perceptive, articulate people i know), and you would be surprised to hear that they get very average grades across the board.

There are many people out there who couldn't give two squirts for VCE but have incredible minds.

That some people is probably a lot less than the people that could of done really well, had they put in more effort.

vce results does not correlate with intelligence.... it correlates with how hard you work.

in most cases these people are liars.

EDIT: probably came across a bit strong. I guess it depends on your definition of 'extremely well' and minimal effort' . Perhaps a genius could get a freak score with 0 effort, but i doubt there would be too many of these guys around.

vce results does not correlate with intelligence.... it correlates with how hard you work.

but do you need some form of intelligence to be able to understand the concept of working hard?

I'd say so, Toothpaste.  No matter what, I don't think it's possible to get 99+ level ENTERs without some degree of natural academic ability.

It probably correlates with 'focus', if such a thing exists...
i.e. the ability of a person to concentrate so intensely that little to no errors can be made

Once you get past a certain threshold, you will have encountered [almost] everything they could possibly throw at you.
From here the obsessive compulsive and perfectionists will win through.

Not even 99+. I'd say everyone has an inherent ceiling or 'asymptote' if you will, regarding effort put in, and ENTER obtained. It's just that this level tends to lie around the 90s for most, and most would consider this a 'good' score already. However, definitions of 'good' vary widely.

Unless you are seriously gifted (1 in a 500 at least) then its not possible to do 'extremely well' with minimal effort. I think most of them are lieing about how 'little' work they do. I know a few people who clearly do more work than they make it out to, who have everyone convinced they do 'nothing'.
