LOL - don't ask yourself "how many", but rather "how much"
Quality > quantity
VCE is not a standard machine where you input x amount of hours and expect y in return, but rather in addition to studying hard, you study smart
When you start the year, you'll realise how much time you need to spend in order to understand all the concepts in depth, and you will know what is required of you

Hey SammyBoi, achieving a 40+ is not as difficult as in other subjects, but to receive scores at the high end you really need to understand the most effective ways of studying for business management.

The main suggestion I have is to recognize that ALL (or most) of your SAC's will be case studies with structured questions, and the exam is case studies with structured questions. This inevitably means that to be a top performer, you need to complete practice questions - a lot of them. Be doing practice questions from the very start of the year, and then aim to do as many practice exams as possible towards the end of the year. Try follow this method throughout the year:

1) Complete practice question
2) Get question marked by your teacher
3) Make adjustments until you have the perfect answer

Don't bother writing notes, either. Why? It is a waste of time when you could be doing practice questions, and the course content is very easy to remember. If you really want to score high 40's, become a bit of a time pincher. Got 5 minutes left of class? Maybe do a few practice questions. Teacher is explaining a topic you are familiar with? Do a couple practice questions.

In case you didn't notice, do practice exam-style questions from day 1 - or now. I guarantee that with the questions (provided you actually mark them and redo them making adjustments), the more you do directly increases your study score. If you have any questions on the course you can post them in the questions thread and I might be able to answer them  8)

Hello!
I completed 3/4 Busman in 2015 and did not achieve a study score of 40 (as I might have hoped at the beginning of the year!), but my advice is not invalid!

Content in Business Management is relatively easy. It's not too hard to learn definitions and understand key concepts. When studying Business I spent most of my time compiling notes, using flashcards to remember definitions and making sure i understood what was required of the course.

However, I spent very little time doing practise questions, and now I realise I should have done much more.
Do practise questions!! I had  StudyOn by Jacaranda, which had heaps and heaps of practise questions which were really good and i just didn't utilise it very well.

Good luck for the year! (btw our subjects are similar, this year i am doing eng, further, studio, japanese (SL) and revs!)
