Second Round Offers
« on: December 18, 2015, 01:31:55 am »

I just completed year 12 with an ATAR of 96.30. Currently I expect to receive an offer for my second preference, which is Arts at Melbourne. However, my question concerns the event that I receive a first round offer for my first preference but then change my mind in favour of Melbourne (which is unlikely).
In this case, to the best of your knowledge, how likely am I to receive a second round offer for Melbourne Arts??? I have not applied for SEAS.
A quick response would be greatly appreciated, given change of preference closes on Monday.

If you get your first preference, you will not get another offer since it's your first preference. They can only give you offers that are higher than your current offer on your preference list

I think this year you can change preferences in between offer rounds, so after accepting your first preference, you can move it to the bottom of your preference list before the opening of the second offer round and receive offers for any preference higher in your list (whilst still protecting the one you've got).
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

This is what I've been told. I just wanted to clarify whether or not a second round offer is less likely for the Melbourne Arts course, even though I'm above the clearly in.
I'm not really sure how second round offers usually turn out, so I want to make sure I'm not taking any risks.
