Most of the time, yes, but you have a very good chance at getting it imo

Dayuum, as if 57/60 this year was a 50... interesting :3
Guess the SACs really mean quite a bit :P

57 is almost always a 50, provided your sacs were good enough in the first place. but really if your sacs arn't good enough for 50 after scaling, you don't deserve it to begin with. also i know someone who got 56/60 and pulled 50 (2013).
but yeah sacs mean a whole bunch.
im tempted to dump a couple of my hand written swotvac essays in the english subforum, is that something people would be interested in?

stupid question but by the arrow, do you mean that they were scaled up?? or LHS = what you expected and RHS = what you got?

Yeah oml while I didn't get 60, if you look at the z-scores for the english exam, it does make sense that 57 would be a 50 with full/almost full mark sacs- which I'm assuming most 45+ would get. You should definitely dump some handwritten essays in there, I think AN needs some more recent content and it helps miles for the class of 2016 and 2017 and 2018!

I'd give it a few more days then maybe chase it up. Christmas period is usually tricky because people are on holiday and post is chaotic. Also, if you sent yours through mail it might take longer - scanning is usually the way to go!

Is it possible to have your English script remarked? I'm not sure if my position is strong enough, because most people in my school that got similar SAC grades to me got similar or slightly lower scores (42-48). The people that got higher SS got better SAC grades (close to perfect for both units). Both my SAC grades got scaled to 100.

Like I got 19 for my Context, meaning that one assessor gave it a 9 and the other- a 10. Can a third person mark it in this instance? My lang analysis grade was quite low (15), I screwed it up.

English exam scripts automatically go to a third examiner if the discrepancy between each examiner's markings is too great. The difference between a 19 and a 20 on the exam is pretty negligible, and it basically comes down to how nice your examiner is feeling. It's quite a pointless endeavour to get it remarked when a) the chances of it moving up are pretty small and b) even if it does, will it really have a big enough impact on your SS/ATAR to warrant the process? I'd personally advise against it.
