Hello everyone! My name is Shirley and I graduated in 2015 with an ATAR of 99.85. In 2017, I am offering tutoring in English, Accounting and Further Maths in which I scored (raw):

English – 50
Accounting – 50, Premier’s Awards, Chartered Accountants’ Outstanding Student Award
Further – 47

I additionally received school subject awards for all three of these subjects as I was ranked number 1 for SACs in them.

If you want to maximise your VCE scores and are looking for the support required to do so, I am able to work with students and parents to mentor, give relevant advice and provide assistance in and outside lessons during the year. I believe that I have a firm understanding of the subjects I tutor and will be able to provide guidance in comprehending important concepts as well as learning the most effective way to improve. With lots of resources, notes, sample essays and answers, I will be able to help you apply the knowledge you’ve learnt. As a graduate from last year, I have fresh and relevant information as well as tips for VCE students on how to improve and succeed. Moreover, I am able to use a mode of media - oral, audio-visual and diagrams - to tailor for students’ individual requirements and preferred learning styles.

I particularly have a passion for English and am a lecturer for English at Connect Education and was also my school's debating captain last year. For the exam I received 58 out of 60 with a perfect score for language analysis. Throughout the year, I will work with you to tackle SACs but simultaneously develop your skills for the end of year exam and will provide you with a plethora of my own summaries and essays. I studied Wuthering Heights (no longer on the text list) and Medea. Although I am flexible to your needs and requirements, I take a more methodical and systematic approach to English, so if you learn with me, I’ll first give you the skills and solid foundations for all your essay structures and then guide you in embellishing and making your work more sophisticated and unique to you– both in concepts and style.

Locations and Price
I prefer tutoring at Balwyn/Kew library, however the location of tuition can be negotiated based upon your circumstances. I charge $40/hr for individual tutoring and $25/hr for small group.
