Hey guys,

it's 2016 now, wondering which cas is better?

was reading post from a few years ago and it seems like they favoured the texas calculator

CAS, any day any time. More elegant, easier to use buttons. Colour, ability to play Pokemon during exams is a plus too.

What about vs the CP400 colour version?

Been using the coloured for the past 2 years and too afraid to change since I'm doing methods 34 this year, tried the CX CAS of my brother but that's sold since it kept lagging and it bad condition it was kept in turned me off. Shame they only let you bring one CAS in....

To be honest, it doesn't really matter that much. I have the old Classpad and it's pretty reliable and can do just about anything I want with it. (I've dropped it like ten thousand times and it still works like a charm) The new Classpad has colour, a bigger screen and is faster, so I guess that's a plus.

If the Cp400 is considered fast.. I can't imagine how slow the old version is  :-[

Alright so after testing out both, I decided to buy a classpad 2
I found that the classpad had a larger screen, and was easier to use due to the touchscreen
they both solve equations within 1> second of each other and there is no noticeable difference for VCE maths.
however the CX cas could draw graphs much faster, and was able to move around with a "buffering." I just found the CX too intimidating with all the butttons

Currently have the Cp400 I am looking for input from people who have used both. The Cp400 is more user-friendly and simple but the TiCX is actually very significantly faster (3-4x) with a processor that isn't ancient. I'm doing yr 12 methods but wondering if its worth swapping. I don't know how long it'll take to muscle memory and be efficient with it though.

TiNspire calculators are pretty quick. My friend used an old ClassPad in the exam, and one calculation made it lock up, and wasted like 15 minutes.

I have the non-colour CP, is it worth upgrading to the newer one or possibly just using the Ti instead? My school uses the classpad but my tutor uses the Ti so I could still learn what I need to know from him.

Used to have that but if you press clear it breaks the lock up but doesn't solve the equation. The new classpad is apparently roughly 35% faster than the old classpad tho.

Also: Has anyone actually used a HP Prime seeing as it's approved for VCE Maths ?lol

Go straight to Ti, Casio's speed is quite frustrating sometimes and Ti is a 110% an upgrade from the 330. Get rid of your 330. The Cp400 has a better interface and is more user friendly but if you want optimal speed it's worth getting the Ti, for me i don't know if its worth it since I've had so much experience with the Cp400... and it might be a bit late.;.
